CHURCH COVENANT

Having been led by the spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and on profession of our faith, having been baptized by water immersion in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now in the presence of God and this assembly. Most solemnly and joyfully enter into a covenant with one another, as a local, new Testament Baptist church.

We engage, therefore, by the help of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to proclaim the gospel message of salvation through Christ alone; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge of the Word of God, holiness, and comfort; to promote its spirituality and prosperity; to maintain its ordinances; baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Table; to sustain its worship of the Lord, discipline, and doctrines; to recognize the leadership of the pastor; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of this ministry, the expense of the church, the relief of our needy, and the spread of the gospel throughout all nations.

We further engage to maintain family and private devotions with God; to educate our children in things both sacred and secular; to seek the salvation of our families, acquaintances, and those of our community; to walk circumspectly in the world, to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all backbiting, excessive anger, and improper attitude; to abstain from use of alcoholic beverages tobacco, and non-medical drugs; to abstain from all forms of immorality and worldly behaviour; and to be zealous in the outreach and advance of the ministries of the church.

We moreover engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offence and always ready for reconciliation as our Saviour has instructed.

These things we covenant before God on the Nineteenth day of February, 2023; Bacoor, Cavite as Chartered Members of Greater Bacoor Baptist Church.
